Astrup Drug Implements ECRS Retail Solution Suite to Address Diverse Business Requirements
Date:10/15/2009

AUSTIN, Minn., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Astrup Drug Inc. has announced the successful implementation of the ECR Software Corp. (ECRS) point-of-sale retail automation suite in their 11 Southern Minnesota locations. The ECRS CATAPULT(TM) system was selected by Astrup Drug to seamlessly automate their diverse retail business needs including: pharmacy system interface, convenience/fuel integration, warehousing, front-end inventory control, and centralized pricing and promotion management.

Astrup Drug's unique retail business model includes a combination of pharmacy, convenience/fuel and large gift shops. ECRS was the only solutions provider able to tie all areas of the business together with one, field-proven retail automation system.

Astrup Drug utilized ECRS Project Management Services to ensure successful completion of the 90+ terminal project within an aggressive, 18 week time-line. ECRS installation specialists completed implementation of the first three locations with remaining sites being installed by Astrup's internal project team.

"This was a remarkably smooth implementation due in large part to an extremely helpful support department, efficient product deployment and attentive project management. ECRS easily met our tight schedule requirements," said Sam Ewing, Director of Operations for Astrup Drug. "The system has tied all of our store locations and diverse business components together seamlessly. Catapult was the only system we found that was flexible enough to do what we needed it to do."

"ECRS products are designed to meet the requirements of complex, convergent business models such as that of Astrup Drug. They exemplify the modern retailer defining the marketplace today and the strategy behind our diverse software and product development. We are proud to have been chosen to help further the success of Astrup Drug and look forward to future developments within our partnership," said ECRS President Peter
