Since joining Assurant in 1988, Mr. Walker, 49, has continually taken on roles of increased responsibility. Most recently, as vice president, organizational development and corporate communications, Mr. Walker led Assurant's executive development initiatives, the company's succession management process, and Assurant's internal and external communications. He earned a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
