This week former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan predicted the unemployment rate of U.S. citizens, currently at 9.8 percent, is "going to penetrate the 10 percent barrier before heading down.” Despite the discouraging figures, there is hope. The Harvard Business blog recently published an article by Umair Haque titled “The Awesomeness Manifesto.” Jim Sirbasku, CEO of Profiles International says, “Mr. Haque’s article is the most brilliant business advice I’ve read in a long time. His article inspired us to apply his four tenets to the employee. It doesn’t seem like there is enough literature available to employees that encourages them to view being a great employee as a virtue. The four tenets found in “The Awesomeness Manifesto,” when applied to the individual employee encourage the person to be ethical when producing, create excellent ideas or products, love what they do and offer meaningful value to their employers.
