As Another Nine C8 Lawsuits Are Filed, Wright & Schulte Continues to Investigate Cancers allegedly associated with C8 Tainted Water in Ohio and W. Virginia

Nine C8 lawsuits involving Ohio and West Virginal residents have been filed against DuPont under MDL2433. These cases allege the Mid Ohio Valley residents developed cancer and other diseases due to their exposure to C8 tainted drinking water. These nine lawsuits against DuPont join the more than 50 C8 lawsuits currently pending in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio. The lawsuits contend that DuPont knowingly contaminated drinking water with C8, a chemical used in it’s Parkersburg, W. Virginia plant. The nine lawsuits were filed as part of DuPont C8 lawsuit litigation underway in U.S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio. (In Re: E.I. According to court documents, a federal multidistrict litigation has been established in the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Ohio, for all personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits filed in accordance with the terms of the C8 class action lawsuit settlement. Richard W. Schulte, a partner with Wright & Schulte LLC, is a member of the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in the proceeding. Trials in the litigation are expected to begin in the fall of 2015.
