20-Year Software Development Veteran Brings Proven Software as a Service Innovation and Customer-Focused Approach to Industry-Leading eMAR Provider

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Artromick International, Inc., a leading developer of medication management and healthcare technology solutions for the long-term and acute care markets, today announced Edwin Miller has joined the company as president of its Software Products Group. In his new role, Miller is responsible for the successful deployment of Artromick's electronic medication administration record (eMAR) solution and development of planned software products. He will report to Chief Executive Officer William Shields.

"Artromick is dedicated to delivering our long-term and acute care customers innovative products that support high quality patient care, reduce medical errors and improve efficiency and workflow," said Artromick CEO William Shields. "With 20 years of software development experience and demonstrated success developing and supporting mission critical healthcare IT solutions, Ed is the ideal addition to our management team. He has the leadership and technical skills to help Artromick take our eMAR offering to the next level and ensure success of future software offerings."

Miller brings more than 15 years of healthcare IT management and development experience to Artromick, including more than a decade developing clinical applications for physician practices, such as electronic medical records (EMRs) and clinical workflow systems. Under his leadership, he delivered Software as a Service offerings that ensured wide accessibility and dependability at the point of care.

Prior to joining Artromick he was with athenahealth, a leading provider of Internet-based business services for physician practices. At athenahealth, Miller was vice president of athenaClinicals, where he developed the EMR industry's first on-demand business model. Under his leadership, athenaClinicals achieved consistently high customer referenceability and improved patient care.

Prior to athenahealth, Miller was chief technology officer of digiChart, a leading provider of healthcare information technology solutions and services for obstetrics and gynecology. At digiChart, Miller led the development of a Microsoft .NET-based EMR product for OB-GYN physicians and in-patient labor and delivery, and oversaw the transformation of the company from a physician practice management vendor to a software development company.

"Artromick has fostered the success of institutional pharmacy providers through innovative products that enhance resident and patient care for more than 35 years. With its dynamic workflow and user experience, the company is applying this same approach to its eMAR offering," Miller said. "I look forward to incorporating my customer-accountable service methodology and technical expertise to help the Software Products Group and eMAR offering flourish as the market leader. Together we will continue to build a software group that leverages technology, service and accountability for customer success."

Miller received his MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
