CHICAGO, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Millennium Pharmacy Systems, a leading provider of pharmacy services to the long-term care industry, today announced that the Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH) selected Millennium as its pharmacy service provider. Selected as a replacement to its existing pharmacy service, AFRH cited Millennium's ability to automate prescription ordering and fulfillment and eliminate medication errors as key to their decision.
"The health care industry in the U.S. recognizes the benefit of an electronic pharmacy service. AFRH pursued a system that would eliminate medication errors while relieving our doctors of and nurses of paper-based administrative burden. Millennium was the only provider that could meet our current and future needs," said David Watkins, Director, AFRH - Washington. "With the Millennium solution in place, our staff will be able to spend more time with residents rather than on those inefficient daily tasks now associated with prescription ordering, dispensing, administering, and reporting."
The AFRH is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) located in Washington, D.C. that offers independent living, assisted living, long term care and memory support to over 1,000 eligible military retirees and veterans.
Millennium delivers on the promise of "the right drug, for the right patient, at the right time, for the right price" so its customers can deliver the best patient care while reducing costs, and more easily meeting compliance demands. Only Millennium combines Just-In-Time Dispensing with electronic medication and treatment ordering, administration, documentation, and reporting.
