Arizona Oncology Opens Radiation Facility at Phoenix Baptist Hospital

ion Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT) and High-Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy. Dr. Mitsuyama will also provide Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (APBI), which allows many women with breast cancer to receive treatment in one week rather than over a six week period.

"We are extremely excited to offer these advanced cancer treatment services to the local community, both at the new Phoenix Baptist site and at the Biltmore location," said Lucas. The Biltmore location, at 2222 E. Highland Avenue, also offers comprehensive radiation treatment options including, Stereotactic Body Radiosurgery (SBRT), and specialized pain management services.

"The addition of these radiation facilities coupled with our extensive research program, as well as other practice services, enables us to better care for cancer patients in our community," said Brian Schade, director of Practice Operations. "It's this dedication that allows us to treat more cancer patients in Arizona than any other cancer treatment provider in the state."

The construction of the new Baptist and Biltmore facilities was made possible through its affiliation with US Oncology, which supports the nation's foremost cancer treatment and research network. Real estate, construction, technology support and other services played a significant role in the opening of this facility.
