Arizona Oncology Opens Radiation Facility at Phoenix Baptist Hospital

PHOENIX, Aug. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Arizona Oncology, the largest group of medical professionals in Arizona devoted exclusively to cancer care, began caring for patients at its new 6,600 square-foot radiation facility in Phoenix last week. Located at 1916 W. Bethany Home Road, Suite 100, the new site will provide cancer patients access to advanced therapies and leading edge technology. The facility marks the second radiation facility opened this year in Phoenix by Arizona Oncology, furthering its commitment to providing cancer patients access to sophisticated care in a personalized, community setting.

"Access to advanced therapies and technology plays a significant role in our fight against cancer," said Dr. Paul Mitsuyama, radiation oncologist with Arizona Oncology, who will practice at the radiation facility. "We are very excited about the opening of this new facility because it means people with cancer in our community can receive radiation therapy close to their homes and their support network of family and friends."

Remaining close to home is particularly important for patients who undergo radiation therapy, as these patients may receive treatment several days per week for more than a month at a time.

Dr. Mitsuyama and Dr. Jerry Lucas, radiation oncologist, will care for patients at the state-of-the-art cancer center. Patients will have access to Intensity Modulated Radiat
