Arab Journal of Gastroenterology accepted for MEDLINE indexing
Date:6/22/2011

Amman, Jordan, 22 June 2011 Elsevier Middle East announces that the Arab Journal of Gastroenterology has been selected for inclusion in MEDLINE, the premier bibliographic database of the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). Citations for articles indexed, the indexing terms and the abstract printed in the journal are now searchable using PubMed (www.pubmed.gov). Indexing using the US National Library of Medicine's (NLM) advanced MeSH terminology will begin in the current volume of the journal.

"We consider this a milestone which will ensure more international dissemination and visibility of the journal," commented Abdel Meguid Kassem, MD, Editor-in-Chief of Arab Journal of Gastroenterology. "The importance of availing the content of the Arab Journal of Gastroenterology to researchers and clinicians all over the world is beyond doubt."

"The growing importance of the Middle East region in the field of scholarly research should not be underestimated," said Haifa Mughrabi, Director of Elsevier Middle East. "Moreover, the outstanding dedication of the editorial board of Arab Journal of Gastroenterology is quite apparent with this significant achievement."

The Arab Journal of Gastroenterology is the official journal of the Pan Arab Association of Gastroenterology and reflects the current status of gastroenterological research and practice in the Arab region and beyond. In its effort to contribute to the advancement of research and clinical practice, the journal publishes original research articles, reviews and practice guidelines related to the diverse study of the digestive system and gastrointestinal disorders.
