Date:2/13/2013

Loves Park, IL (PRWEB) February 13, 2013

The new wastewater treatment system at Lee, MA allows the plant to meet more stringent requirements for removing phosphorus from its wastewater to an average of 0.12 mg/l of phosphorus which is well below the 0.2 mg/l limit. Eliminating phosphorus is critical to keeping the Housatonic River and its ecosystems vibrant and healthy.

It was then recognized at a federal level by the US EPA – Region 1 as one of the most efficient and eco-friendly wastewater treatment facilities in New England.

Al Zerbato, Plant Manager at Lee, MA was invited to the New England Water Environment Association (NEWEA) annual conference on January 30th to formally accept the award.
