Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc. Provides Solutions for Removing Phosphorus from Wastewater for the Town of Lee, MA, Contributing to the Plant’s Recent Award from the US EPA
Date:2/13/2013

Loves Park, IL (PRWEB) February 13, 2013

The new wastewater treatment system at Lee, MA allows the plant to meet more stringent requirements for removing phosphorus from its wastewater to an average of 0.12 mg/l of phosphorus which is well below the 0.2 mg/l limit. Eliminating phosphorus is critical to keeping the Housatonic River and its ecosystems vibrant and healthy.

The Town of Lee, MA wastewater treatment plant was nominated for the 2012 Regional EPA Wastewater Treatment Plant Excellence Award at a state level based on the new plant’s efficient operation and performance. It was then recognized at a federal level by the US EPA – Region 1 as one of the most efficient and eco-friendly wastewater treatment facilities in New England.

Al Zerbato, Plant Manager at Lee, MA was invited to the New England Water Environment Association (NEWEA) annual conference on January 30th to formally accept the award.
