Recently AppsGeyser carried out some research to help understand how apps are discovered and which of these apps enjoyed the largest amount of downloads. The research showed that over 60% of all app download are made through organic search methods. Therefore, it is vital for all apps to be successfully optimized for the app market.
The use of ad networks to promote apps has proven to be the most successful method of app downloads. App links appear within alternate apps on banner ads and once clicked from the mobile device, the app will automatically be opened for downloading. The conversion rate for clicking on the link and actually downloading the app is extremely high. These high download rates then increase ranking in the Android market.
