Announcement from the Leadership Team at Unitek College
Date:11/4/2019

In September, Unitek College received nursing-board approval to expand their Bachelor of Science (BSN) program to the Bakersfield community. Now, Unitek is pleased to announce that Dr. Stephanie Robinson, RN, PhD HEA, will serve as the new Associate Dean of Nursing for the BSN program in Bakersfield. Dr. Robinson will lead the faculty team and oversee an advanced simulation center with medical surgical intensive care units, various simulation labs, and patient rooms.

Dr. Robinson brings extraordinary leadership and experience to Unitek College. She previously served as Director of Nursing for Fresno City College, which maintains one of the largest community college nursing programs in the state of California. Currently, Dr. Robinson is the President of the Northern California Chapter of the California Organization of Associate Degree Nursing (COADN). She also serves as an advisory board member for the California Board of Registered Nursing, and acts as Chair of the Health and Human Services Subcommittee with the Fresno Unified School District.

With her extensive experience, Dr. Robinson is uniquely equipped to help Unitek lessen the nursing shortage in San Joaquin Valley. The ultimate goal of the Bakersfield team is to improve the lives of local residents with their high-quality program, clinical partnerships, and strong community ties. They are committed to improving the overall health of the public by preparing safe and competent nurses who can benefit every resident in the region.

“Dr. Robinson is the ideal choice to lead Unitek’s BSN program in Bakersfield,” said Dr. Abdel Yosef, Chief Academic Officer at Unitek College. “Continually elevating the quality of Unitek’s education programs requires innovative, experienced, and well-respected leaders who are able to foster academic excellence and advance health education.”

Recently, Dr. Robinson also commented on her position: “As the new Associate Dean of Nursing, I am excited to be a part of Unitek’s growth and continuation of excellence. I look forward to collaborating with college leadership, strengthening relationships with local healthcare partners, and working with peers in the community.”

Unitek College is one of California’s reputable healthcare and nursing colleges. Taught by experienced professionals, Unitek programs teach the clinical technique and theory used in the field today. Equipped with a multitude of sought-after skills, Unitek graduates are prepared to excel in many of the fastest-growing careers in healthcare and nursing.
