Anapol Schwartz Attorney Named to Executive Committee of American Association for Justice

Sol H. Weiss, shareholder at law firm Anapol, Schwartz, Weiss, Cohan, Feldman and Smalley, P.C., was one of five persons elected to the American Association for Justice's (AAJ) executive committee at the organization's recent annual convention in Philadelphia.

Weiss], shareholder at law firm [Anapol, Schwartz, Weiss, Cohan, Feldman and Smalley, P.C.], was one of five persons elected to the American Association for Justice's (AAJ) executive committee at the organization's recent annual convention in Philadelphia. This committee plays an important role in determining the direction of the organization - the world's largest trial bar, with 56,000 members.

Weiss is currently co-plaintiff's liaison counsel for more than 800 victims in the [Vioxx New Jersey] cases, helping to secure the $4.85 billion settlement. Concentrating in complex civil litigation, including class actions and pharmaceutical cases, medical and other professional malpractice, securities litigation and products liability matters, he also achieved a $68.5 million settlement for 168 people seriously injured by the statin drug Baycol, and a $3.75 billion settlement in a national diet drug case.

Active in the legal community, Weiss is a member of the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia bar associations, as well as the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association and the American Board of Trial Advocates. Listed in both The Best Lawyers in America and Pennsylvania's Super Lawyers®, he received a LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell's AV Peer Review Rating, which honors lawyers for their expertise, experience, integrity, and overall professional excellence.

A resident of Bryn Mawr, Pa., Weiss earned his undergraduate degree from The Pennsylvania State University (B.A., 1968) and his law degree from Villanova University School of Law (J.D., 1972).
