Amscot Financial Contributes to Brevard County's Hacienda Girls Ranch, Providing a Safe Haven for Abused Girls

MELBOURNE, Fla., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Amscot Financial, a leading provider of convenient, consumer-oriented financial services, invites all to come out and have fun "the Amscot way" at its open house on Saturday, April 18, from 2 to 4 p.m. at 1515 Palm Bay Road in Melbourne. Amscot will present a $500 contribution in support of the Hacienda Girls Ranch, operated by the Children's Home Society of Florida.

The Hacienda Girls Ranch provides a safe haven for 20 abused, neglected and/or abandoned girls from the ages of 12 to 18. Hacienda's newest addition, Smith House, provides a transitional living opportunity to eight teenage girls. While living in apartment-like housing, the girls receive counseling and training while continuing in school and working.

During the Amscot open house event, children's entertainment will be provided. Radio station WA1A (107.1) will broadcast live from Amscot's parking lot and give away prizes. Free refreshments also will be provided.

At the Amscot grand opening, the Child Protection Education of America, Inc. (CPEA), a national nonprofit organization for missing children based in Tampa, will also be available on site to provide free fingerprinting for children through their "ID ME NOW" program.

The program produces a state-of-the-art, specially designed card for parents to keep. The card contains a set of the child's digital fingerprints, a black and white photo, a dental chart, and instructions on how to do a simple DNA collection. Safety brochures are provided with the fingerprint card, as well as an envelope containing further information on how to complete the child safety kit. '/>"/>
