Amilpar Revenues Grow 28% in the First 9 Months of 2008 and 4.5% Over Previous Quarter

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Amilpar (BOVESPA: AMIL3, Bloomberg: AMIL3 BZ and Reuters: AMIL3.SA), the largest managed care organization in Brazil, announced today its consolidated results for the third quarter of 2008.

3rd Quarter 2008 Highlights

-- Total membership stood at 3.1 million at the end of September, up 18.2%

on the same period last year and 3.6% higher than the previous quarter.

-- Adjusted Operating Revenues totaled R$ 1,141.2 million in 3Q08,

22.9% more than in 3Q07 and 4.5% higher in relation to the previous

quarter. Nine-month net operating revenues came to R$ 3,230.1 million,

27.9% higher than in 9M07.

-- Adjusted EBITDA came to R$ 71.4 million in 3Q08 (a margin of 6.3%)

and R$ 298.7 million (a margin of 9.2%) in 9M08, compared to

R$ 80.0 million and R$ 269.2 million year-on-year, respectively.

-- The Medical Loss Ratio for membership utilization recorded 68.3% in

3Q08 (against 67.8% in 3Q07) and 67.3% year-to-date (against 68.3%

in 9M07).

-- The Company posted an adjusted Net Income of R$ 42.9 million in 3Q08,

compared to R$ 47.1 million in the same period of last year, and

R$ 211.5 million in 9M08, 31.3% higher than the same period

last year.

-- Net Cash position at the end of 3Q08 totaled R$ 1,129.5 million.
