American Sentinel University Accepting Enrollment in Online RN to BS in Nursing
Date:5/12/2008

ion to opportunities for career advancement, nursing is a field that is currently in high demand. The Council on Physician and Nurse Supply recently released a statement calling for a 30 percent increase in the annual number of nursing graduates needed to meet the nation's health care needs. As a whole, the country is in the midst of a nursing shortage that is only expected to intensify as baby boomers age and the need for health care grows, according to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

The shortage problem is compounded by the fact that many nursing colleges and universities are struggling to expand enrollment levels to meet the rising demand for nursing care, leaving some qualified students out of the advanced classes needed to finish their degrees. With courses available entirely online and a streamlined admissions process, American Sentinel University is able to quickly get students on the path to finish their BSN degree.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, American Sentinel University offers more than 24 online degree programs (with no residency requirements) and over 231 courses. The university has over 40 full-time and adjunct faculty, of which more than half hold a Ph.D.

Founded as a Vanderbilt University Technology Company, American Sentinel University delivers to its students the competitive advantages of unique online education programs focused on the needs of high-growth sectors. The university is accredited by the U.S. Secretary of Education-recognized Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council.
