American Lung Association Offers Smoke-Free Transition Help to Businesses

DES MOINES, Iowa, April 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In response to the State of Iowa's new smoke-free law, the American Lung Association of Iowa will host a "Making Your Worksite Tobacco-Free" conference on April 29th in Coralville, Iowa to assist businesses making the transition to a healthier workplace. The conference will offer information on the new law, and feature speakers who have already made the transition. The conference is for businesses that have questions about the law and the process of making their worksites tobacco-free. Scheduled presenters are Roger Conner, Vice President of Communications with Marriott International, Joanie Troester, Associate Professor at the University of Iowa and Bill Roach, Executive Officer with the Iowa Attorney General's Office.

"The American Lung Association realizes that the smoother the transition is, the better it will be for everyone," says Dan Ramsey, Director of Programs with the American Lung Association of Iowa, "I'm sure there are questions about the law and the process to become tobacco-free and we want to help businesses adapt to this important change."
