FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., July 24 /PRNewswire/ -- American Laser Centers (ALC), the largest provider of aesthetic services in the U.S., announced the launch of "ALC University", an integrated, online learning and performance management system for the training of current and new technicians, clinic managers and corporate staff. This ongoing educational curriculum works to reinforce American Laser Center's best in class service and enhance the customer experience.
Since its inception, ALC University has nearly tripled the amount of technician training hours, increased the efficiency of treatments provided, reduced technician turnover and created uniformity among remote facilities.
"With the swift growth ALC has experienced it was clear that the company's training initiatives needed to evolve in a way that served the quickly growing employee and facility network in an efficient and effective way," said Ted Villella, Learning and Performance Leader at American Laser Centers. "ALC University has helped to shift the company's focus from training to 'learning' and provides a platform that will continue to allow us to build the best team, grow the base business and expand the company's offerings."
ALC University offers over 400 online "courses" that provide training on a range of technical, procedural and compliance topics, keeps track of training progress and provides a method for ongoing communication with new and current employees. From February through July 15, 2009, ALC employees registered for 9,357 courses with an impressive completion rate to date of 91 percent.
"The notable results we have seen to date lend strong support to reinforcing learning initiatives as integral parts of both the training and ongoing employee development process," said Rich Morgan, founder of American Laser Centers.
