Date:6/21/2013

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 21, 2013

The American Brain Tumor Association’s 2013 Patient & Family Conference, taking place in Chicago on Fri., July 26 and Sat., July 27, focuses on the medical, rehabilitative, social and wellness needs of brain tumor patients and their caregivers.

“As the first and now only national organization dedicated to providing brain tumor patient and caregiver support services, as well as professional education programs, the ABTA recognizes the need for a broader understanding of the brain tumor experience, treatment options, and the road to survivorship,” said Elizabeth Wilson, president and CEO. “Through this event, the ABTA provides a valuable vehicle for engaging everyone involved in the patient experience. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to interact individually with early career scientists reporting the outcomes of their ABTA-funded research projects. These future leaders of the medical and scientific brain tumor community represent the brightest in the field. Attendees will hear from and have opportunities to speak with prominent national experts from such prestigious institutions as Cleveland Clinic, Duke University, Emory University, Mayo Clinic, MD Anderson Cancer Center, The Ohio State University and Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

The event schedule also allows opportunities for attendees to socialize, attend informal small group demonstrations of online networking tools, as well as opportunities to unwind in a dedicated relaxation room. Event attendees have the option to join ABTA supporters and current and former ABTA leaders as the organization recognizes its 40th anniversary with "
