Special Contributor Mike Leavitt Kicks-Off his First Commentary entitled

"Beware of the Trojan Horse"

WASHINGTON, April 23 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The grassroots forum AmericaSpeakOn.org today kicked off a three-week discussion about health care reform with a commentary from former Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Mike Leavitt. In his first commentary since departing HHS, Leavitt calls the President's "public option" for health care coverage a Trojan horse that will actually undermine choice and competition in health insurance coverage.

"Every American should have access to health insurance that he or she can afford. Government must take strong action to make that possible. However, President Obama's 'public option' is designed to become most Americans' only option. Our only hope is to keep this Trojan horse safely outside our gates," Leavitt writes.

During the three-week period, leaders on all sides of the health care reform conversation will share their thoughts via AmericaSpeakOn.org and to encourage the public to join the discussion and "Speak On."
