AmeriLife Recognized for 'Green' Accomplishment
Date:5/10/2013

Clearwater, FL (PRWEB) May 10, 2013

AmeriLife’s “paperless” business recycling program’s remarkable effectiveness was recognized with a Certificate of Environmental Accomplishment, lauding the environmental responsibility of the nation’s premier insurance marketing group.

The recycling program – part of AmeriLife’s document destruction / confidentiality / recycling effort – is coordinated through the Shred-It company’s collection and recycling of AmeriLife’s superfluous paperwork.

AmeriLife has shredded and recycled confidential documents as part of the Records Management section’s functions for many years. In 2012, AmeriLife “saved” 317.40 trees by recycling 17.63 tons of paper, according to Shred-It.

Locked Shred-it containers are placed throughout AmeriLife Place for disposal of confidential and sensitive paperwork, which is collected, rendered and recycled frequently by Shred-It. This program not only guarantees compliance with federal privacy and protection laws, it also recycles confidential documents into reusable paper products, such as napkins and plates.

“We’ve done a wonderful job of reducing and reusing paper throughout our company,” said Record Management Specialist Katy Anderson. “Every ton of recycled paper saves approximately 17 trees from being harvested for pulp and paper production, and reduces by three cubic-yards what would otherwise end up in a landfill.”

“This is another great example of AmeriLife’s corporate social responsibility,” said CEO Timothy O. North. “Combining document disposal with recycling is one of the most effective programs, in so many ways, that an organization our size can embrace.”

Founded in 1971, Clearwater, Florida-based AmeriLife, represents more than 30
