Ambulatory Services of America, Inc. Completes Purchase of Majority Interest in Rosa of Ge...( NASHVILLE Tenn. Jan. 7 /- Ambulat...),Health

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Ambulatory Services of America, Inc. announced that it had completed the purchase of additional interests in ROSA of Georgia, LLC, a joint venture between ASA's subsidiary, Radiation Oncology Services of America, Inc., and American Oncology Associates, LLC. Following the purchase, Radiation Oncology Services of America will own a majority interest in ROSA of Georgia.

ROSA of Georgia offers state-of-the-art cancer treatment services, including intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) and high dose rate brachytherapy in its outpatient facilities. The joint venture was formed in March 2007; it owns and operates eight radiation oncology centers in Georgia and Florida. Four of ROSA of Georgia's facilities are affiliated with the Georgia Center for Total Cancer Care, the largest provider of oncology/hematology services in the Southeast and a national leader in cancer treatment and research. American Professional Associates, LLC -- a physician practice including 16 radiation oncologists -- will continue to provide physician services to patients being treated at the facilities and to serve as medical director of the facilities.
