AlloSource Chosen as Healthcare Finalist in 2009 'Top Companies'
Date:8/7/2009

CENTENNIAL, Colo., Aug. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- AlloSource, one of the nation's largest non-profit providers of skin, bone and soft tissue allografts for use in surgical procedures, announced today that for the second consecutive year it has been selected as a finalist in the Healthcare category of the Top Company awards program hosted by ColoradoBiz magazine.

ColoradoBiz is hosting the business awards program for the 22nd consecutive year. The primary criteria for Top Company are sustained financial excellence, community involvement and operational excellence in one or more functional areas of the business.

In 2008, AlloSource saved and enhanced the lives of more people in more communities than ever before. The Company processed more than 4,150 tissue donors -- a 25% increase from 2007 -- whose gifts helped thousands of people to improve their mobility and functionality. This allowed AlloSource to provide 10% more allografts in 2008. Additionally, AlloSource processed more than 3,200 skin donors whose generous gifts helped save the lives of burn victims around the country.

"We are honored to again be recognized in our home state for our efforts to advance the uses of allograft tissue, which we distribute around the country to save and enhance lives," said Thomas A. Cycyota, AlloSource President and Chief Executive Officer. "Our recognition by the prestigious Top Company awards program is a testament to our success in our mission to honor the gift of donation and responsibly process and distribute human allograft tissue for our communities."

A judging panel of business and civic leaders is convened to vote on Top Company winners in each category. Judging will take place in mid-August. Top Company winners will be announced at an awards luncheon September 15 at the Seawell Ballroom, Denver Center for Performing Arts.
