AllMed's New PeerPoint Medical Review Portal Improves Medical Review Process

Web 2.0 technology provides workflow efficiency, tracks cases in review, meets tight deadlines and reduces costs

Portland, OR (PRWEB) May 18, 2009 -- Today, AllMed Healthcare Management Inc. announced the launch of its PeerPoint® Medical Review Portal software. PeerPoint is a start-of-the-art software platform that allows payer clients to send and receive independent medical reviews via the web.

"We developed PeerPoint Workflow to create the best single source of knowledge, collaboration and information sharing for healthcare claims, medical management and hospital peer review," said Andrew Rowe, CEO.

At the heart of the system is a secure paperless workflow that improves the efficiency, tracking and delivery of medical reviews. PeerPoint workflow makes it easy for customers to submit, track and receive medical reviews over the Web. PeerPoint Workflow tracks the details of every case from its receipt, until one of AllMed's 400 peer specialist reviewers makes a determination on the case and returns it.

"It's our job to take the pain out of medical reviews for our clients by helping to reduce the cost and time spent sending, receiving and processing cases," Rowe said. "Not only will PeerPoint Workflow improve the medical review decision making for our clients, but PeerPoint Network will help keep them up-to-date on the latest in medical necessity."

Easy Workflow Set Up and Tracking
PeerPoint Workflow is a time-saving system, making the medical and peer review effort more efficient than ever before. Available at no-cost to volume customers, PeerPoint workflow is easy to use. It requires no technical skills to set up and only takes a matter of minutes, largely because there is no software to download or training required.

All clients have their own private PeerPoint workflow dashboard. From the dashboard, they have the ability to submit new reviews, receive completed cases, track all case details at every step of the process and even interact with AllMed when they have questions. In addition, the friendly interface and dashboard in PeerPoint Workflow allows clients to view alerts, case details and status updates on all reviews in process. Clients can even have alerts delivered to their e-mail inbox.

Software Integrates with Customers' Workflow
With PeerPoint Workflow, AllMed returns completed reviews to customers in an electronic format. Clients can then easily attach AllMed's reviews to electronic case records or paste the review content into their case management system, which reduces clients' storage, filing and transcription costs.

While clients can send cases to AllMed and receive them electronically, some still may want their cases sent by fax or courier. By utilizing the user-specified delivery choices in PeerPoint Workflow they can send and receive their cases the way they want. In addition, AllMed easily handles any physical materials, such as X-rays or dental molds using the portal's integrated artifact tracking system.

PeerPoint Network Features
In December 2008, AllMed announced phase one of its Web 2.0 site upgrade, which extended new resources to customers. Now customers will also have access to a growing set of resources. Features of the PeerPoint Medical Review Portal include:

  • Medical necessity articles
  • Healthcare Glossary and frequently asked questions
  • Best practice documents
  • State regulatory compliance links
  • Automatic generation of related content from other sources
  • RSS feeds
  • Medical consultant online chat capabilities
  • Medical Review Blog
Protects Patient and Physician Privacy
PeerPoint uses 128-bit encryption and ecommerce-grade Internet security protocols to guarantee HIPAA-compliance. All case materials, documentation and discussion threads are stored on PeerPoint servers hosted at AllMed. The company never transfers patient or hospital peer-review information by e-mail.

Availability and Pricing
PeerPoint is now available to all payer clients. For more information about PeerPoint Medical Review Portal call AllMed at 1-888-289-6015 or visit the PeerPoint website.
