Align Technology Names Dana C. Cambra as VP, Research & Development

SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Align Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALGN), today announced that it has hired Dana C. Cambra as vice president of research and development, effective June 16. Mr. Cambra will report directly to Align President and Chief Executive Officer, Thomas M. Prescott and lead the Company's research and development initiatives.

Prescott, Align president and CEO. "Dana's extensive experience in medical technology and software development will be of tremendous value to Align as we continue our history of innovation and build the next generation of Invisalign products."

Innovation has been a hallmark of Mr. Cambra's career. As a member of the management and technical teams at Acuson Corporation, now a Siemens Company, he was instrumental in the development of the Sequoia Medical Diagnostic Ultrasound system, a breakthrough in high-resolution ultrasound products that has generated more than $4 billion in revenue.

More recently, Mr. Cambra served as senior vice president, research and development for Pharsight Corporation, a leading provider of simulation and modeling software for pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Prior to his role at Pharsight, Mr. Cambra was vice president, engineering at Stentor Inc. and the Phillips Global PACS business unit, an industry leader in providing medical informatics solutions. Earlier roles included senior engineering and operations positions at Visto, where he led development of communications solutions for the first Handspring/Palm Treo
