Alegent.com Goes Mobile
Date:12/20/2007

OMAHA, Neb., Dec. 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Alegent Health is once again taking the lead in the nation in health care technology by making it possible for consumers on the go to receive breaking health news headlines, updates, directions -- even pictures of newborns delivered at one of our area hospitals. Alegent.com recently launched a new site that's exclusive for consumers with mobile handheld devices including Smart Phones and PDAs to access.

"The latest research suggests that mobile devices outnumber desktop computers by more than two to one. Alegent Health wants to provide easy to use information to as many users as possible with this new site which contains pertinent information for a growing audience," said Jackie Goss, operations leader of the eHealth Marketing Team at Alegent Health.

Goss says consumers simply need to visit Alegent.com via their mobile device browser to automatically be connected to the Alegent Health mobile site. Once there, they'll discover breaking health news and headlines which is continuously being updated. The site also features phone numbers, addresses and driving directions for Alegent Health hospitals, clinics and physicians. The information has been configured in a way that's easy to click on, dial and store. In addition, the driving directions link simply requires a starting point. The alegent.com mobile site appears be the first of its kind in hospitals and health care systems in the nation.

"Giving consumers the basic information they need, when they need it is the goal of the new alegent.com mobile web site. We think consumers are really going to like this new feature," said Goss.

Goss says in the coming year, additional features will be added to the site plan to make it even more helpful. For more comprehensive information on Alegent Health services, health information and more, visit alegent.com on your personal computer or laptop.
