Alcohol Related Emergency Room Visits Up 38% for Men and Women
Date:9/14/2013

Miami, Florida (PRWEB) September 14, 2013

As reported by CNSNews.com (9/7) in their news story, CDC: Booze-Abuse ER Visits Up 38%, that according to a report from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Americans visited emergency rooms for alcohol-related problems in 2009-2010 at a rate that was 38 percent higher for men and women than in 2001-2002,

This excluded visits for injuries caused by alcohol-induced accidents, such as falls and car crashes.

The CDC report included emergency room visits for alcoholic psychosis, alcohol-dependence syndrome, alcohol abuse, alcoholic polyneuropathy, alcoholic cardiomyopathy, alcoholic gastritis, alcoholic liver cirrhosis, excess blood alcohol and alcohol poisoning.

Anyone can become alcohol dependent and suffer severely from the disease. Brand names, type of alcohol and how much alcohol one consumes are just three of the many factors that can lead to a dependency. Those experiencing the detrimental effects of alcohol abuse should check into a 24/7 medically supervised detox center such as Harbor Village.
