Alcohol & Drug Rehab Quebec Announces Program to Help Adolescents Cut Down Alcohol Addiciton
Date:1/5/2014

Quebec, Canada (PRWEB) January 05, 2014

A Quebec alcohol and drug rehab center is announcing that it has started a new program aimed at helping adolescents break their abuse of alcohol through new services available at Alcohol Addiction Treatment Centers.

Statistics provided by the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse indicate that, in the past year, "the percentage of seventh-graders in Quebec using alcohol in the past year was 26.8 percent, 65.4 percent for ninth-graders and 79.4 percent for 10th-graders."

There is a continual need for addressing the issues surrounding alcohol addiction. While in Quebec it might be considered "normal" to drink alcohol, when it becomes a chronic, multiple-time-per-day use of beer and/or hard alcohol (vodka, scotch, etc.) then problems begin to arise. Some adolescents might find themselves skipping school because of a hangover or wanting to go drink with their friends and use other drugs, too.

Entering alcohol rehabilitation is a wise choice for adolescents as it allows them a chance to get clean. Part of this process is detoxification, cleansing out the physical body that is filled with mind-altering substances.

After detox comes counseling and therapy. More times than not, real-life issues within an adolescent - whether it is emotional or physical abuse from parents or their peer group - has other issues going on in their lives. Alcohol and drug rehab allows clients time to discern and figure out what is their truth around these situations.

Counselors and therapists with many years of experience in the field of substance abuse treatment and addiction can help make the transition from addiction to recovery easier. Staff and clients are able to exchange stories of shared experiences, which will let recovering individuals know they are not alone in their journey.

The relationships formed between recovering individuals and staff members of the Quebec alcohol and drug rehab center provide a strong support network that offers strength and guidance during the recovery journey, throughout the transition to life outside of treatment and as recovering individuals adjust to sobriety. Entering and going through drug rehab can become a life-changing journey for any person serious about getting and staying clean and sober.
