Akron-Canton Airport offering flu shot clinic for 90 days

Convenient and located in the main concourse area

GREEN, Ohio, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Save a trip to the doctor's office and get your flu shot the next time you fly out of the Akron-Canton Airport (CAK.). The airport has partnered with QuickClinic, LLC of Akron, to provide you with another way to get your flu shot this winter.

Flu shots cost $30 and pneumonia shots (recommended for the elderly and those who have had pneumonia) are $45. The clinic will be in the airport for 90 days, seven days a week from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m. All shots are administered by a nurse.

"We wanted to offer a convenient way for any passenger flying in or out of CAK to keep healthy this flu season," said Kristie Van Auken, airport marketing and communications director. "We know that travelers keep busy schedules, so this is just one small way we can help our passengers save time and stay well this year."

The clinic is conveniently located in the main concourse area of CAK. The whole process includes a small amount of paperwork and the shot is administered immediately. Passengers taking advantage of this service will be off to their flight within minutes; or could squeeze it in prior to heading to baggage claim.

The airport dedicated its new, spacious, passenger concourse and celebrated its sixtieth birthday in October 2006. The concourse was the centerpiece of the airport's $60 million, five-year STAR expansion project which also wrapped up in October.
