Affordability Crisis in Managed Care Explored at Conference of Health Plan Executives
Date:7/9/2008

March 8 - 11, 2009

CLEVELAND, July 9 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its mission to share innovative ideas and experiences, the Managed Care Executive Group (MCEG) has announced its 20th annual forum for CIOs and senior health-plan leaders will be held March 8 through 11, 2009.

The upcoming MCEG forum, which has earned a reputation for providing unique insights and networking opportunities, will be at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa near Phoenix, in Chandler, Arizona.

Exploring the theme of "Solving the Affordability Crisis," the forum will provide for open, honest discussion of current issues in managed care. Unlike most industry events, the MCEG forum is not a trade show with vendor exhibits. The purpose of the event is to exchange ideas, develop valuable peer relationships and explore innovation that will transform organizations and the industry.

Formed in 1988, MCEG's mission is to create value and improve the alignment between business and technology in health care. The members forum is a community of CIOs and business leaders who act as resources to each other throughout the year in navigating tactical and strategic issues.

MCEG's "Top 10" list of hot issues and emerging trends is widely known and respected among the top health-plan executives. After surveying industry leaders around the nation, MCEG members determine the new "Top 10" list at the annual forum.

Mike Elinski, associate vice president of Technology and eBusiness Development of Health Alliance Plan of Michigan, says, "The annual MCEG forum is the most eagerly anticipated event on my business calendar. I have not encountered a more pleasant and productive atmosphere in which to share experiences and learn from my peers. The value of the MCEG, exploring ideas and sharing thoughts with a group of healthcare IT professionals who are all in this together, is unmatched."
