Date:4/2/2009

APTOS, Calif., April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Aegis Living, a national leader in senior living and assisted living communities, announces that it has acquired its community in Aptos, California. Under the recent acquisition, the property and building currently operating as Aegis of Aptos are now owned and operated solely by Aegis Living's parent company, Aegis Senior Communities, LLC. This latest development for the company marks another step in the long-term growth plans to serve seniors on the West Coast.

"Despite the difficult economic environment, Aegis Living continues to grow in the geographic markets it serves through new development and strategic acquisitions such as Aegis of Aptos," said Dwayne Clark, chairman and CEO of Aegis Living. "With investments such as Aptos, it continues to position us for future growth and to strengthen our value proposition."

Aegis of Aptos was opened in 1999, and is one of the first communities opened by Aegis. This senior living retirement community located near Monterey Bay offers residents the option of assisted living and memory care (for those individuals with Alzheimer's or other dementia) with 88 senior apartments. It is located at 125 Heather Terrace, in Aptos.

In the future, Aegis Living will continue to successfully execute its current focused and selective acquisition plan as part of the company's goal of fulfilling its growth strategy.
