PAUL, Minn., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Acuo Technologies is a market leading provider of comprehensive software solutions to the medical imaging industry for archiving, collaboration and migration services. Recently there has been an increased attention to migrations as a result of the increasing size of digital imaging archives caused by new modalities like multi-slice CT's, Digital Mammography and the onset of new contributors like digital pathology systems. Many healthcare institutions that are beginning the transition from their current 5 year investment of PACS are realizing they are facing an expensive and lengthy transition from their existing systems to their new next generation PACS. At this important juncture, many CIO's are questioning the wisdom of removing their data from proprietary legacy PACS systems and putting them into their new next generation system which is in a proprietary format AGAIN. The realization that there is a moment during the migration where the data is fully DICOM compliant, motivates many to seek a way to avoid the future migrations that will be larger, require more time and ultimately be more expensive.

To meet this need, Acuo Technologies is announcing the launch of the FREE Migration Archive License. The FREE Migration Archive License provides a fully DICOM compliant archive that stores migrated studies in a format that will never require customers to pay for the remigration of their data. When Acuo Technologies is contracted to perform the migration, there is no cost for the license of the vendor neutral Migration Archive to store migrated studies in a fully DICOM compliant format.

The Migration Archive can be upgraded to provide additional functionality for healthcare IT, including;
