This year at the EMS Today Conference & Exhibition, a team of judges reviewed and evaluated numerous new products and innovations released to the EMS market within the previous eight-month period. These products included EMS equipment, vehicles and programs on display by the nearly 300 exhibitors.
The judges reviewed each submission based on the product’s ability to improve emergency medical care to sick and injured patients as well as emphasis safety, efficiency and the enhanced comfort of the patient.
The review team rated each of the new and innovative products on their originality, functionality, ease of use and need in the EMS setting.
The Infection Control & Prevention series was one of the 25 top products chosen this year.
All EMS agencies need an infection control program to help ensure that their responders can recognize and minimize the risks that communicable diseases pose to themselves, their workplace and the community at large. Action Training Systems’ Infection Control & Prevention series gives instructors the tools they need to help meet the initial and annual training requirements in bloodborne pathogens training and infection control training as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Action Training Systems’ 3-title Infection Control & Prevention series provides a systematic understanding of bloodborne, airborne and other diseases of concern to emergency responders. Some of the diseases discussed in the series include hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), tuberculosis (TB) and methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).'/>"/>
