Accredited Medical Supplies Hosts Fall Health Festival
Date:11/2/2007

SEATTLE, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Accredited Medical Supplies is inviting seniors and caregivers in the San Fernando Valley to receive free flu shots November 10, 2007 from 11 a.m. -- 3 p.m. at a Fall Health Festival and Grand Opening Event. The event is being held at 21142 Ventura Blvd in Woodland Hills.

Accredited Medical Supplies is honoring the importance of healthy aging and lifestyle by also offering a variety of free medical screenings, product demonstrations and an "Ask the Doctor" station where guests can speak directly with a physician. The Fall Health Festival is a community celebration of National Home Care Month and a Grand Opening Event.

For most people, remaining at home is at the top of their priority list when it comes to matters of aging and receiving medical care. For many patients, navigating the many products and services that accompany aging at home and chronic illness can be overwhelming.

"Unlike a typical DME store, we took a more holistic approach with Accredited Medical Supplies. This store is really more of a resource center for patients and caregivers. Because we have been serving thousands of patients for more than 25 years, we know that retail just isn't enough. We want to make staying at home easier. People need a place to turn for product questions, demonstrations, training and general home care information. Accredited Medical Supplies provides that," said Barry Berger, President, Accredited Family of Home Care Services.

There are millions of people across the country who struggle with the demands of personally caring for an aging parent or loved one. With 77 million baby boomers preparing for retirement, the need for caregivers will only increase. Many of today's seniors and boomers are actively caring for people who are suffering from a serious chronic illness. Without a background in medicine, ensuring safety, proper medication management and quality care can be increasingly difficult.
