The joint venture Abbymex is announced by Abbey Color Inc. and Mexicana de Extractos International, S.A. de C.V. to provide a consistent supply of logwood extract used in the production of hematoxylin and hematine. Hematoxylin is a key ingredient in stains used by biological laboratories for Pap smear tests and hematine is used to dye medical sutures. Abbey Color is the world’s largest manufacturer of both hematoxylin and hematine.

Mexicana de Extractos has supplied logwood extract to Abbey Color Inc. for their Hematoxylin and Hematine production for over thirty years and the newly formed joint venture, registered as Abbymex, is being built on the strong foundation of mutual respect and trust that has evolved over the years because of the high principles espoused by both companies.
