Parkinson's Departments Use Taxpayer Money to Collect Names for Union
WASHINGTON, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Last week, the Alliance for Worker Freedom (AWF) called on Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson (D) to release financial documents and correspondence surrounding his Departments using taxpayer money and state resources to collect healthcare provider names and addresses for the Service Employee International Union (SEIU).
AWF's letter (available on their website) asked:
". . .all receipts and financial transactions regarding the 'collection' of this information, per request of the SEIU, be made publicly available. . .that all emails and correspondence using state-owned resources between Kansas state employees and anyone working for the SEIU be made available..."
The Governor's office recently responded by claiming they "are not in possession of any information identified in your [AWF's] letter."
"They have no problem collecting information they don't have per request of the SEIU, a powerful and corrupt union, but our request gets denied," said AWF Executive Director Brian Johnson. "If taxpayer money is being spent to help the SEIU unionize healthcare providers, the public has a right to know!"
Johnson says his organization plans to follow up with the specific state departments to try and obtain this information. Details can be found on their website www.workerfreedom.org.
