ARDS Promotes Awareness with New Campaign

This ARDS Awareness Video video was created generously by Accent Media, in PA, after the creative director lost his beloved mother to ARDS. Accent Media donated their time, expertise and dedication to help create awareness of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS.)

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) July 27, 2009 -- Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) may not be one of the most talked about medical conditions for good reason - it is often misunderstood and misdiagnosed. ARDS Foundation, based in Chicago, aims to educate people about the deadly disease that causes moderate to severe lung function with the launch of a new internet awareness campaign.

"This project has been very rewarding for those of us who have been directly touched by this devastating disease," said Eileen Rubin Zacharias, ARDS Foundation President and co-founder. "To have the support of leading experts from the medical and advertising communities who have also dealt with the effects of the disease is deeply appreciated."

ARDS Foundation teamed with award-winning Accent Media Group to produce a two-part video for viewing on websites such as ardsusa.org, YouTube, FaceBook, and MySpace. The first segment serves as a traditional information piece designed to immediately educate people either facing the disease either personally or supporting someone diagnosed with ARDS, explained AMG Chief Creative Officer Chad Gutermuth. According to Gutermuth, the second segment shows the more "personal side" of ARDS by featuring interviews with ARDS Foundation co-founders and leading medical experts in ARDS treatment and research.
