AMERIGROUP to Establish Public Policy Institute

"In the next few years, we are likely to see dramatic changes in the way healthcare is delivered, measured and financed. Throughout the course of this debate, we must ensure that the voice of those we serve - whether a low-income mother, an elderly neighbor or a person with a disability - is heard," said James G. Carlson, AMERIGROUP Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "The AMERIGROUP Public Policy Institute will seek to translate the experience we have had with these populations over 15 years into innovative programs and policies that can be implemented on a larger scale.

"I'm very pleased that Nancy Grden will be leading this important effort for AMERIGROUP. Her knowledge and creativity will help us play a constructive role in the national debate over our healthcare system and complement the work being done by our associates on behalf of 1.7 million members."
