Stredler, Mellon Assume Key Management Posts as Senior Vice Presidents

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AMERIGROUP Corporation (NYSE: AGP) today announced the hiring of three experienced executives to lead the Company in key management positions: Linda Whitley-Taylor has been named Executive Vice President, Associate Services; Jeffrey L. Stredler, Esq. joins AMERIGROUP as Senior Vice President, Senior Litigation Counsel; and William D. Mellon has been named Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications.

Whitley-Taylor assumes the role currently held by AMERIGROUP Executive Vice President, Associate Services Catherine S. Callahan, who joined the Company in 1999 and will retire in the spring.

With a 19-year career in the GE organization, Whitley-Taylor joins AMERIGROUP from Genworth Financial, where she served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources Operations at the company's Richmond, Va., headquarters. Her roles in human resources, training and quality steadily increased in responsibilities and scope, ultimately resulting in oversight of human resources operations for 6,500 employees in 24 countries.
