"These students understand the importance of healthy living and it showed in their entries," said Adam Mintz, AMERIGROUP Community Care Vice President, Sales and Marketing - Multi Plan. "This contest is a great way to spread the word about good nutrition and drug-free living; plus it encourages the participants to express themselves in writing, which is always a positive exercise for middle school students."

This year's entries were evaluated by a panel of community judges including: Robin Aniboli (Ocean Health Initiatives); Kathy Gonzalez (Arc of Ocean); Diana Mejia (Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health) and Catherine Werner (St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church).
