AHMC renews exclusive relationship with Broadlane to reduce supply chain costs and improve operations

Dallas, TX (Vocus) July 29, 2009 -- Broadlane, the leading cost-management company for healthcare providers, announced today that AHMC Inc. & AHMC Healthcare Inc. (AHMC) in Alhambra, California has renewed its exclusive supply chain relationship with Broadlane for another five years. AHMC will continue to access Broadlane's unparalleled national contract portfolio of consumable supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals and purchased services to help manage its approximate $100 million in annual supply spend for its seven hospitals, including the recently-acquired AHMC Anaheim Regional Medical Center.

"Our relationship with Broadlane has been very successful and provided significant savings to help provide better patient care," said Houshang Abd, Chief Financial Officer, AHMC. "We performed due diligence, examining two other healthcare supply chain companies and interviewing two California-based Broadlane renewal clients. The best-in-class Broadlane pricing, dedicated service excellence and rave reviews from Broadlane clients who recently renewed relationships were determining factors for our decision. Broadlane, a growing company like AHMC, has demonstrated a continuous ability to provide significant savings and supply chain improvements, and we look forward to further savings and improvement in the coming years."

AHMC will continue to utilize:

  • OnRamp®, Broadlane's proprietary client portal, to access the national contract portfolio, informatics, Broadlane and industry news and education.
  • BroadLink® (Broadlane's e-commerce exchange) to automate and manage transactions between AHMC facilities and suppliers electronically. The facilities can also manage purchase orders, purchase acknowledgements, advanced ship notifications, invoices and product and price updates through BroadLink.
  • Quote Review Services for medical capital equipment purchases on Broadlane's contract portfolio. AHMC will continue to use Broadlane's Quote Review Services to identify additional savings opportunities and verify contract terms and conditions and pricing related to warranty and training.
"We are pleased to continue our successful, exclusive relationship with AHMC," said David Ricker, President and Chief Executive Officer, Broadlane. "It's an exciting time at AHMC with their recent acquisition of the former Anaheim Memorial Medical Center, and we are grateful for the faith they have in our abilities to deliver even greater savings and supply chain improvements for their system in the coming years."
