Playtex Sport, Aquafina, Schwinn, Tinactin, Jelly Belly Sport Beans and Nike Motivate College Students to Complete 5 Million Workouts and Burn 750 Million Calories This Spring

NEW YORK, March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- American Collegiate Intramural Sports (ACIS), the nation's largest college sports property and six corporate sponsors are joining together to launch ACIS Fitness on 200 college campuses this spring. This new college marketing platform is aimed at motivating the 2.7 million students at these schools to make five (5) million visits to the gym and burn more than 750 million calories during March and April, 2009.

Throughout the 2009 spring semester, ACIS Fitness takes over the campus recreation centers at the 200 colleges with a series of events and promotions aimed at motivating students to work out more frequently. The ACIS Fitness Rewards incentive program motivates and rewards physical activity among students with a goal of completing 24 workouts in six weeks. The ACIS Fitness Challenge tests strength, endurance, flexibility and agility with top participants invited to the ACIS Fitness National Championships on April 25 at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. Highlights of the event will be featured on a 30-minute television show on Fox College Sports.

The program enables consumer product companies to bring their marketing dollars closer to the customer with turnkey activation on campus, by delivering product demonstrations, sampling, sweepstakes, signage and other sponsor benefits. ACIS Fitness offers sponsors Playtex Sport, Aquafina, Schwinn, Tinactin, Jelly Belly Sport Beans and Nike a semester of continual activation on campuses followed by a visible national championship event.
