AAPCC Issues Statement on Decision of Urban Outfitters to Stop Selling Prescription-Themed Products
Date:6/14/2013

Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) June 14, 2013

The American Association of Poison Control Centers and the experts at America’s 57 poison centers are pleased with Urban Outfitters’ decision to remove its line of products designed to look like prescription medicine bottles. Today, AAPCC President Marsha Ford, MD, FACMT, FACEP, issued the following statement:

“Today, we have learned that Urban Outfitters has decided to stop selling its line of prescription-themed products. The American Association of Poison Control Centers and America’s poison centers commend Urban Outfitters for its commitment to safeguarding the health of their customers.

“Poison centers work very hard to prevent poisonings. Unfortunately, the pint glasses, flasks and shot glasses designed to look like prescription pill bottles made light of a very serious issue – prescription drug abuse and misuse. We thank Urban Outfitters for removing these products from their stores and websites.”
