The Pen and Paper Diet, a new book by Michael Dow, provides a simple solution for weight loss and a way for a person to maintain their ideal weight. As the title implies, all one needs is pen and paper to control

their weight.

TUCSON, Ariz., June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- The World Health Organization projects that over 80% of the U.S. adult population will be overweight by 2015. Also by 2015, approximately 130 million adults in the U.S. (or 53%) are expected to be obese (http://www.who.int/topics/obesity/en/).

The Centers for Disease Control state many health consequences for being overweight like Type 2 diabetes and colon cancer (http://www.CDC.gov). The current healthcare crisis requires a stress relief from somewhere in the system. Weight loss is a simple way to provide relief since most experts say it is a matter of watching what one eats.

The Pen and Paper Diet, a new book by Michael Dow, provides a simple solution for weight loss and a way for a person to maintain their ideal weight. As the title implies, all one needs is pen and paper to control their weight.

Dow says the book is based on science because "it uses research about estimated calorie requirements for people with different physical activity levels from the National Academy of Sciences. Also, total calorie content about the majority of the world's foods and many beverages are provided in the book which was obtained from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)."

"The diet is safe because a person doesn't have to take any diet pills. You just keep eating the types of foods that you like and you'll end up losing weight with this program," says Dow. "You don't have to worry about any side effects with a diet pill. You also don't have to avoid certain types of foods or seasonings like salt or carbs."
