A Milestone: Pool Services Technologies Just Conserved 7.5 Million Gallons of Water in San Diego

When Pool Services Technologies Inc. (PST) started filtering pools back in 2010, it started with a couple test pools here and there to prove its water filtration concept. As the years have passed by those numbers have increased dramatically and so has the interest. Recently, PST filtered an ordinary 17,000 gallon swimming pool but it propelled them over a total of 7.5 million gallons of water conserved in San Diego. PST had a vision of a solid product that was not only needed in Southern California but across the U.S. where water conservation is at an all time high. It pained Sal Paldino, Vice-President of Pool Services Technologies to see swimming pool owners drain pools into the street or storm drains and felt there had to be a solution to this problem.

A mobile filtration system was built four years ago that was designed to filter swimming pool water and give swimming pool owners an option when forced to drain. Over time, swimming pools need to be drained because the fill water is extremely hard. As the water evaporates, the hardness minerals stay behind staining the decorative tile, the liner and literally sucks up chlorine preventing it from working properly. Paldino stated, "the goal was to infiltrate the market and provide a solution to wasting all this water."
The mobile filtration trailer is energy efficient, quicker than a drain a refill, a relatively inexpensive service and provides swimming pool owners with the best water possible in the swimming pool. PST's goal is to continue to process pools in general area of San Diego.
