A Miami Prosthodontics Facility Offers Additional Surgical Procedures in Treating Severe Gum Disease
Date:12/20/2013

Miami, Fl (PRWEB) December 20, 2013

TM Prosthodontics, a dental office in Miami, recently announced additional oral procedure options for patient's suffering from severe cases of gum disease.

For severe cases which lead to major gum and tooth decay problems and can be physically painful and distort tooth color, TM Prosthodontics' dentist, Dr. Tal Morr, is now offering more surgical options in treating different levels of gum disease cases.

When excessive bacteria builds up inside the mouth, it can lead to infection within gum tissue causing inflammation and bleeding. If left untreated, gum tissue will begin to pull away from teeth, allowing bacteria to destroy underlying bone structure.

In extreme cases, a gum surgery may be required.

Depending on the severity of the infection, Dr. Morr is one of the top alloderm grafting Miami surgeons, qualified in treating different levels of gum disease infection. Those surgical procedures include:

Pocket reduction - A procedure where the surgeon folds back the patient's gums and manually removes bacteria. Once bacteria is removed, the patient's gum tissue is secured against their teeth.
Crown lengthening - A procedure where overgrowth of gum tissue is removed from the patient's teeth to make their teeth appear longer. This procedure is more for cosmetic reasons, however does treat gum disease.

Soft tissue graft - A procedure where the surgeon takes a sample of a patient's healthy gum tissue and attaches it to area where gum tissue has receded or is completely gone as a result of gum disease. This procedure covers exposed roots, improving the overall appearance of the patient's teeth.

When basic dental care is not enough to fix major oral cavity issues, TM Prost
