A Different Way of Thinking for a Fulfilling Life: New Book Offers Practical Guidance for Rethinking Happiness and Nurturing Self-Love
Date:10/29/2008

NEW YORK, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Amidst the din of modern society, the most important sound is the voice that resonates within. This is the message that rings loud and clear in "Do You Love Yourself?" (published by AuthorHouse -- http://www.authorhouse.com), a practical guide to loving one's authentic self by Carmen Jimenez, LCSW, MPA.

"This is not a textbook full of fancy words and complex concepts to sit on your shelf collecting dust," Jimenez states in the book's first pages. "Instead, I created a book that you could take with you, something short, snappy, and to the point. I wanted to present you with a little piece that could act as a companion, offering you hope, inspiration, and affirmation as the need arises."

Jimenez breaks apart complex topics such as fear, prejudice, societal expectations and other issues that prevent people from seeking what makes them happy and following through to achieve feelings of self-love and worth. She explores why many people are pushed into a nightmare of feeling inferior because they do not meet the standards set by others. Those who are riddled with self-hatred and self-recrimination have often tried unsuccessfully to live up to the popular images society presents for success. "Do You Love Yourself?" offers action-oriented steps to finding happiness in what has been called the "age of anxiety." The book's goal is to help readers overcome the learned habit of self-battering.

"Do You Love Yourself?" does not offer a silver-bullet solution to happiness. Instead, Jimenez means for this to be a thought-provoking book that awakens readers to the vital role of mind-power in creating a self-fulfilling life.

Jimenez's gentle, conversational style aims to connect with readers who have forgotten what it means to feel good about oneself and may be confused about the choices they make. It is all about which decisions are right for an individual. In a world where outside pressures can complicate the process of determining one's best path, "Do You Love Yourself?" offers hope and inspiration, helping readers affirm that they are making choices that lead to happiness.
