Cancer Retreat Offers Complimentary Rooms for First-Time Attendees

STOWE, Vt., Feb. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The 9th Annual Stowe Weekend of Hope, "A Celebration of Life and Learning for Survivors of All Cancers, and Those Who Love Them", held in the New England resort town of Stowe, Vermont, opens registration on February 24th, 2009.

The Stowe Weekend of Hope will be held May 1-3, 2009, and has become one of the most inspiring, educational and unprecedented events for cancer survivors in the country today. The event is open to survivors of all forms of cancer, as Stowe hotels donate complimentary rooms to first-time attendees and discounted rooms to returning guests. In 2008, hundreds of cancer survivors attended the free workshops, seminars and inspirational events held throughout the weekend. Over three-hundred cancer survivors and their families, from 21 states, Canada, and the Virgin Islands, and representing 46 different types of cancer were accommodated. Simply go to www.stowehope.org to register and to learn more.

The weekend's program highlights include an Opening Ceremony, typically attended by Vermont dignitaries, and a Closing Ceremony in the awe-inspiring Trapp Family Lodge Concert Meadow. Dozens of enlightening, educational and life-balancing forums and workshops are held throughout the weekend, free of charge, and presented by leading oncologists, medical researchers, and experts in the field of cancer and cancer-related issues. The keynote speaker will be Joanna Bull, founder of Gilda's Club Worldwide.
