6th International Chronic Total Occlusion Summit to be held Feb. 5-6, 2009 in NYC
Date:1/7/2009

WHAT:
The Sixth International Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) Summit is a two-day conference featuring state-of-the-art technologies, research findings and new developments in therapeutic procedures that are essential for interventional cardiologists to optimize procedural success in chronic total coronary occlusions. The conference will include presentations from experts in the field, case review sessions, and numerous thematically organized live coronary CTO cases broadcast in high definition from Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation in La Jolla, CA, and Columbia Medical University in New York, NY.

WHY:
Chronic total occlusions (CTOs) of coronary arteries represent one of the greatest challenges to interventional cardiologists. Successful revascularization of CTOs has been strongly associated with improved left ventricular function, freedom from angina and future revascularization, and in several studies increased survival. Through new guidewires, novel devices, appropriate patient selection, and improved operator technique, the success rate for recanalization of complex CTOs is increasing. The novel retrograde approach to CTOs has been introduced as an alternative route for recanalization of otherwise difficult or impossible lesions.

Key topics will include:

  • CTO Revascularization: An Evidence Basis for Improving Clinical Outcomes
  • The CTO Toolbox: New and Imaginative Applications for Existing Technologies with Case-Based Presentations
  • Clinical Outcomes Following CTO Revascularization: A Global Perspective
  • Crossing Technique in CTO Revascularization (Antegrade and Retrograde)
  • CTO Complications
  • Solutions to the Last Great Barrier in PCI Success: Innovative Technologies

WHEN:
February 5 6, 2009

WHERE:
New York Marriott Marquis Hotel
New York, NY
