5th Annual World Lupus Day Philadelphians Take Part In a Global Rally of Support

PHILADELPHIA, May 8 /PRNewswire/ --

WHO & Thousands of Philadelphians are expected to join the Lupus

entertainment, information and refreshments to support the need

to raise awareness about lupus. Live music, giveaways, snacks

and information about signs and symptoms, diagnosis and tips to

live better with lupus will be available at no charge to

everyone.

WHY: Although first recognized by medical science in the late 1800s,

public understanding of lupus continues to be below that of other

life-threatening conditions. Lupus is under-recognized as a

global health problem by the public, health professionals and

governments, driving the need for greater awareness. Early

detection, diagnosis and treatment of lupus can help to slow the

debilitating effects of the disease. Improving awareness of

lupus symptoms will save lives.
